Summary Note Dusty plasmas have first been studied in astrophysical situations. Here, we now like to highlight a few aspects of dust in the ionosphere or in our solar system. We start with noctilucent clouds and polar mesospheric summer echoes. Then, we look into dust streams near Jupiter and Saturn and how our knowledge of dusty plasmas can be used as a diagnostics in Saturn’s rings.:
